Company Description
Education and stewardship are the core tenets of our work in the Black Rock Desert-High Rock Canyon Emigrant Trails National Conservation Area (NCA).
Friends of Black Rock-High Rock formed in 1999 in support of various groups of people who come together with the common goal of preserving the region and promoting appreciation for its historical, ecological, agricultural, recreational and scenic resources.
We are neighbors, visitors and concerned citizens who share a commitment to this wild, remote and priceless National Conservation Area. Dwindling federal resources have put public lands across the country at risk. Friends of Black Rock- High Rock plays an important role, not only through our own efforts but also through providing critical support, volunteers and expertise to the Bureau of Land Management.
As stewards and advocates for the region, working to ensure the NCA receives the highest level of protection possible, this organization enforces Leave No Trace ethics.
