Key information:
Location: Denver, CO (required)

Compensation: $45,000 + hefty benefits package incl. healthcare (see below)
Sales experience required: No, though salary is flexible for those with experience in sales and strategy; and also experience and knowledge specifically in the Outdoor Industry.

Who we are:

Mtn Stuff is a team of committed individuals dedicated to serving the outdoor market in the rocky mountain region - CO, UT, WY, NM for 6 specific brands (which you will get quite familiar with in this position). Our main role is to represent our brands (manufacturers of gear) by providing sales & marketing support and education to outdoor retailers who buy those brands and gear. We not only train retail staff in why the products they sell are amazing, how to use them, and who they are a good fit for - we also help them strategize how to promote and sell them. Our focus is on the specialty gear market, meaning we work with independent outdoor stores Neptune Mountaineering, Backcountry Experience, The Ute Mountaineer,  Campsaver, Jans, Teton Mountaineering, and a few key .com and multi-door retailers (such as Backcountry).

Who YOU are:

?    You are an enthusiastic, active outdoor enthusiast and participant.

?    You drool over gear in cool shops

?    You place high value on working with a fun, friendly, collaborative, supportive group of people.

?    You are a problem solver, a creative solutions seeker, a person willing to find answers and solutions when there is no easy, clear cut path.

?    You work hard - and play hard and you make time to do both. You work independently and manage time well to accomplish work and life goals / balance.

?    Every day is new around here and every day is an opportunity to learn from the people we work with. You want to learn, improve, grow, and be a supportive, active, contributing member of the crew.

?    You are confident. A get it done attitude.

?    You are humble. We are grateful for the relationships we share and the rewards we receive.

?    You are a listener - really, like, for realz. Do you think of a reply when someone is talking before they’ve finished what they have to say? Well, that probably isn’t a good listener. Keep looking.

?    You can create a big idea and make it happen. Strategic thinking, follow through, attention to detail.

To succeed in this role, you should be able to work with sales and marketing representatives and build rapport quickly with dealers. We expect you to be a strategic thinker; an active listener; a creative problem solver; a collaborative colleague; work in a dynamic, flexible environment; contribute to a group while working independently; and enjoy versatility. Ultimately, you’ll maintain strong relationships with our retailers to grow their, and our businesses’.

A successful candidate will be enthusiastic about traveling overnight throughout CO, NM, UT, and WY on a regular basis (with a company vehicle, of course). Travel may be for 3-5 consecutive nights or more as you meet in person with retailers, attend trade shows, manage events, or attend out of state (or occasional international) sales meetings.  We estimate that once a person is established in this role travel expectation is approximately 50%. Some weekend work is expected.

Key Responsibilities (AKA what you will do all day)

?    Present our brand’s products to retail store owners and buyers and help them make strategic assortment choices based on the needs and goals of their business.

?    Assist dealers with inventory replenishment, visual merchandising (includes placing and following up on fill-in orders)

?    Provide product education to store staff through clinics and brand provided resources.

?    Create opportunities for brand growth within the territory (prospecting)

?    Manage Perk Program (pro forms, TD (Territory Development) budget and TD orders, dealer appreciation aka holiday gifts)

?    Maintain and manage MtnStuff Samples (facilitate delivery and return of samples, prep samples for selling season, execute sample sales)

?    Support retail and consumer events that promote our brands throughout the territory as needed.

?    Attend and contribute to national and regional Trade Shows as well as brand sales meetings. (sometimes international travel is required)
