Overview:

Work in beautiful Bellingham, Washington for a fast-growing outdoor company. Bellingham is a hub for outdoor activities with world class mountain biking, skiing, and kayaking. You’ll be working in our new Design and development studio in historic Fairhaven. 

Job Description:

Zenbivy needs a gear expert to  interact with the outdoor community to cement Zenbivy as the leader in innovative outdoor gear. This position does customer service, does social media, manages our ambassador and affiliate program, organizes and represents the company at in-person events. If you have a passion for outdoor gear, creative storytelling, and social media strategy - we want to hear from you!

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  1. Customer support: Interacting with customers to provide on-demand technical support and knowledgeable buying advice during assigned shifts. 

  2. Social Media Management:  Manage the social media post cadence and create messaging that aligns with brand stories and engages our target audience.  Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries to build and maintain an engaged online community. Partner with and manage ambassadors to create content for brand use. 

  3. Affiliate/PR: Identify and collaborate with influencers, creators, and outdoor communities to expand Zenbivy’s brand reach.

  4. Events: Discover events that will help Zenbivy reach its target audiences and facilitate Zenbivy’s presence at such events. Will potentially travel and represent Zenbivy in these spaces. 

 

Requirements:

  • Be an expert in backpacking and camping culture, gear, and technique and want to turn your passion into work. You don’t need to be hardcore, but you should be able to know your ins and outs of gear and be able to provide legit insights and recommendations.

  • Strong written skills - ability to write social copy, support communications, blogs, scripts, etc. 

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills - Ability to interact with customers over the phone or in person to support customer service and represent Zenbivy at industry events. 

  • Ability to learn on your feet and to adapt to new technology and software. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Social Media Manager, community manager, or similar role.

  • Attuned to social media trends, tools, and best practices, and able to implement them in real time for better performance. 

  • Ability to report and analyze your work with industry metrics. 

  • Proficient in social media platforms, scheduling tools, and analytics (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).

  • Strong knowledge of SEO and social media best practices.

  • Experience with managing affiliate programs - bonus if you're familiar with Avantlink.

  • Experience with graphic design and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).

  • Proficient in google suite applications - Google Sheets, Docs, Chat, & Drive.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with influencer marketing and brand collaborations.

  • Experience with Monday.com or other work management software.

  • Customer support experience with Zendesk software.
