This position leads maintenance and repair operations, ensuring the highest level of service for our e-bike fleet. The Lead Mechanic will play a pivotal role in ensuring safety, reliability and performance of our e-bikes, contributing to an exceptional customer experience.

We offer ebike subscriptions at an affordable price that include maintenance, repairs, insurance, and roadside assistance as well as the whole gamut of accessories for those looking to be car-free while cruising around Seattle. The role
- Oversee the diagnosis and repair of mechanical and electrical issues in our e-bike fleet.
- Enforce and improve quality standards and processes to enhance the overall reliability and performance of our e-bikes. Implement Bike Quality Control (QC) processes, checklists, and Standards.
- Operating Procedures (SOPs) for both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. Develop and maintain SOPs for Stage 1 and Stage 2 builds. Regularly review and update quality standards and processes to align with industry best practices.
- Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule to ensure ongoing fleet reliability and safety. Set minimum miles for servicing intervals to optimize the lifespan and quality of the bikes and ride experience.
- Handle inventory of parts and supplies, ensuring adequate supply levels to meet demand. Manage stock levels of wear/consumable spare parts such as chains, fluids, and brake pads.
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding to repair requests promptly and professionally. Ensure all test ride bikes give customers the best first impression of the brand.
- Safely operate a van to assist with transporting Wombi bikes within the local market when needed. Operate a pallet jack and/or push cart on a recurring basis for efficient movement of bikes.
- Manage and train a team of mechanics to ensure consistent and high-quality repairs. Conduct training sessions to enhance the team's skills and knowledge.
- Special Projects as assigned
Your background
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in bicycle or e-bike maintenance, with a focus on diagnostics and repairs.
- Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role is advantageous.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
