JOB TITLE:              Specialist, Sales Support                    STATUS:       Non-Exempt

Position Summary:   

Under the direction of the Territory Manager for Mathews Archery, assists in advising retailers on sound business practices and sales promotion practices.  Helps promote and pursues sales of bows by identifying potential retail clients, having regular contact with those retailers, providing retailers with brand information and developing relationships.  Serves existing clients and identifies potential new clients for the business.  Assists in resolving retailer service issues.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Develops productive working relationship with retailers by offering effective advice regarding sales, product promotion techniques, merchandising and maintaining sufficient inventory of product for optimum retailer profitability.

  2.   Supports Territory Manager for Mathews Archery on day-to-day tasks and projects. Facilitate archery sales goals.

3.    Responds to telephone calls, faxes and emails from customers regarding product needs, inquiries, or complaints in a cordial, informative and diplomatic manner. Handwrites customer orders completely, accurately and legibly for distribution to Order Entry CSR who then enters it into computer system.  Occasionally enters and makes changes to orders in M2M computer system

4.    Makes outbound telephone calls to discuss order status, resolve order issues, answer product & service questions, and up-sell product as it relates to order-taking and promotional calling campaigns.     

5.    Mails, emails and faxes brochures of product information to inquiring callers upon request, including referring consumers and retailers to Mathews & Mission web content. 

6.     Prints reports as requested by Sales Management.

7.     Generates sales reports by using Excel for our current customer base.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

1.      Serves on Company committees as needed.

2.      Assists in other departments as needed.

3.      Other duties as may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.

 

Work Relationships and Scope: 

Reports directly to Territory Manager, Mathews Archery.  Regular contact with almost all employees for obtaining and providing information.  Regular contact with customers, suppliers and vendors.

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: 

High School diploma or equivalent required.  One to two years of office/customer service experience preferred.  Individual must possess: ability to react to a change in priorities on a daily basis; excellent verbal communication skills; professional demeanor and appearance; problem-solving skills; strong computer and typing skills; ability to manage time effectively; strong attention to detail; self-motivation skills; ability to build positive work relationships with coworkers and customers; ability to interact professionally with a wide variety of people.  Must be able to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions, decimals, percentages).

Equipment Operated: 

Utilizes a PC and computer printer for word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail, Internet access, and other specific applications.  Utilizes a variety of office equipment including: telephone, calculator, photocopier, facsimile, and postage meter.

Working Conditions: 

Work is performed largely in a pleasant office environment, with minimal chance for personal injury.  Regular contact with employees.  Deadline pressure is an integral part of the job.  Frequent mental and visual concentration for computer usage, and reading/assimilating complex and technical compliance information.  Work hours are generally during normal business hours and average at least 40 hours a week, with reasonable expectation of overtime. Occasional out-of-town and overnight business travel (air or auto) is required for business and education. Most of the workday is spent sitting. Alternates walking, standing, and sitting throughout work shift. There is regular use of the keyboard and telephone. Requires the ability to give and receive detailed information through verbal and written communication. Requires near-and mid-range vision.
