Summary:

At the highest level, the Marketing Manager is responsible for telling a clear and compelling story to our customers about the incredible value proposition that Next Adventure offers. The Marketing Manager oversees and coordinates all of the company’s advertising, promotion, branding, messaging, and public relations functions. This person also leads and supervises the four-person Marketing Team. This is a full-time, salaried position. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

LEADERSHIP:  

- Directly supervises the Marketing Team, including one Content Manager and two Graphic Designers.

      - Works collaboratively with our Events and Community Relations Manager.

      - Creates a positive culture in the Marketing Team and actively promotes an atmosphere of professionalism, accountability, and high expectations.

      - Maintains positive working relationships with other internal groups to maximize our marketing impact.  (HR, Buyers, Accounting, Sales Team, Location Managers, etc.)

      - In collaboration with the Management Team.  Contributes to regular Marketing strategic planning sessions to prepare for future growth and address emerging business needs.

 

    PROMOTION:

      - Coordinates all television, radio, print, social media and other forms of advertising.

      - Oversees sales-related advertising process, specifically getting ad content from Buyers on a strict timeline and tracking MAP windows using Asana (a team collaboration software). Tracks MAP data and locates missing info as needed.

      - Oversees the advertising process for events, sales, and services-related company activities.

      - Thoroughly communicates MAP windows to Graphics Team and Location Managers. 

      - Oversees and coordinates creation and publication of weekly ads. Ensures that the Graphics Team has the product information needed to produce the ads in a professional and timely manner.

      - Coordinates the production of a variety of promotional graphic materials, including event coupons, posters, gift cards, fliers, etc.

      - Measures advertising ROI and reports to Management Team.

      - Manages window display materials with vendors, Buyers, and Store Managers.

      - Writes and/or edits advertising copy, including earned media (PSAs, community event promotion, etc.)

      - Promotes the many ways that Next Adventure supports and benefits the communities where we do business.

 

     MARKETING PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND COORDINATION: 

      - Coordinates and collaborates on Sales Events (advertising, social media, etc.)

      - Coordinates and collaborates with Web Manager on email lists, email marketing, and digital promotion.

      - Manages the company’s overall marketing budget.

      - Oversees our donations process to ensure that it stays within spending parameters and generates demonstrable value for the company.

      - Collaborates with Events and Community Relations Manager on strategic partnerships.

      - Conducts market research and analyzes customer demographic data.

      - Works closely with Management Team as they negotiate advertising contracts.

      - Creates and publishes all marketing material in alignment with marketing strategic plan.

      - Oversees brand management and company identity.

      - Maintains effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant staff are kept informed of marketing objectives.

 

      Skills and Qualifications:

      - Strong experience in the Outdoor Industry required.

      - Degree or significant experience in Marketing required.

      - Proven analytical and project management skills.

      - A confident and dynamic personality.

      - Proven ability to effectively tell a brand story, both in person and in writing.

      - Proven skills in leading and supervising a team.

      - Proven writing skills. 

      - Skilled in Analysis and Research to inform Owners about marketing industry trends and the competitive landscape.

      - Effective financial manager and gatekeeper for our Marketing resources.

      - Flexible and adaptable. Able to effectively navigate through change and unforeseen obstacles to ultimately reach established goals.
