Company Description
Founded in 1910, the mission of the Green Mountain Club is to make the Vermont mountains play a larger part in the life of the people by protecting and maintaining the Long Trail System and fostering, through education, the stewardship of Vermont’s hiking trails and mountains. Today the GMC maintains over 500 miles of trails throughout the state, including the Appalachian Trail and our beloved Long Trail. The GMC works closely with agency partners, including the US Forest Service, VT Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation, and the Appalachian Trail Conservancy. GMC employs over 30 seasonal staff each summer and fall to live in the woods and conserve our trails.
