Bicycle Enthusiasts Wanted at Boston's Downtown Bike Shop.
At Urban Adventours / Urban Cycles, we offer a unique experience for employees, as we manage the largest bicycle rental inventory in the Boston area. We pride ourselves on our high-quality rentals including hybrids, full-suspension mountain bikes, high-end road bikes, gravel bikes, electric bikes, tandems, kid bikes, and more. We are not your typical bike shop - we are way more fun! We are located in downtown Boston near Fanueil - a fun and exciting place to work.
We also offer fully-guided bicycle tours of Boston, and as a result our customers come from all over the world. Opportunity to ride on bicycle tours is available to all employees.
For those looking for a traditional bike shop experience, we offer this as well in our bike shop nextdoor. Our shop has a commuter and downtown focus, but we also serve the Boston road and mountain biking communities. We consider ourselves cycling advocates, and support local cycling initiaves by providing mechanical support at local rides and promoting our "I Bike Boston" themed apparel and merchandise at local advocacy events.
Job Openings
We have openings at all levels, including hourly and salaried positions. Part-time, full-time, and seasonal openings available as well.
We are hiring for the following positions: Service Manager, Retail and Inventory Manager, Mechanics (all levels), Tour Guides, Tour/Rental Attendants, and Sales Associates. Applicants are also encouraged to apply at large. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, be customer-service oriented, take direction well, be flexible, and be eager to learn new things.
We are flexible with hours, but require a set schedule. Compensation is based on previous experience, position, and ability. Wages range from $14-25/hr and 40-70k/year. Employee perks include access to our extensive fleet of rental bikes, access to our Camp Wapanacki (our mountain-bike focused sister-company in Vermont), pro-deals, employee wholesale purchases, and more.
