Softgoods Buyer Job Overview

Summary- This role will be directly responsible for Purchasing and Managing the product lifecycles of Softgoods (‘SG’) and Softgoods Accessories (‘SGA’) at 3 Sturtevants locations.  This role reports to the Owner. Responsibilities also include.

• Lead and coordinate all stages of relevant product lifecycles to maximize profitability while managing sell-through, turn rates, and inventory levels. This includes.
• ·        Lead and Coordinate all Purchasing of SG and SGA including Preseason Orders, Reorders, Special Orders, Employee Purchasing and other special programs. Quality purchasing requires a intimate understanding of specific inventory levels and sales performances, a self-trust in subjective decisions, and the ability to make decisions and move forward. As important as good planning is, the management of the ‘now’ is almost always more important.
• Putting customers first and delivering exceptional customer service. 
• Proactively engage the Owner to help determine product strategies, Assortment Plans, propose and coordinate markdowns, and solve complicated problems in a timely manner. 
• Proactively engage the CFO to help maintain and develop purchasing tools and data.
• Work closely with product representatives and sales managers. 
• Work to formalize procedures of this role through the development of Handbooks.
