Lycoming College is now accepting applications for the part-time position of Outdoor Leadership & Education Coordinator.   This position aids in the facilitation of co-curricular education and leadership development of students through intentional adventure-based programming.  The Coordinator works collaboratively with the Director to facilitate the Lycoming College climbing wall in equipment management, wall maintenance/route setting, supervision, and climbing wall staff training.  Additionally, the Coordinator leads 2 field-based programs each semester. This position on average is for about 5 hours per week with the exception of trips and/or programs and does require irregular hours in the evening and weekends along with travel.

Requirements & Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • CPR/AED Certified (or ability to obtain within 3 months of employment)
  • Wilderness First Responder certification (or ability to obtain within 3 months of employment)
  • Valid Driver’s license with a motor vehicle record that is compliant with Lycoming College vehicle use policy.
  • Adventure-based field leadership experience in one or more of the following activity specific pursuits:
    • Backpacking
    • Expedition Canoeing
    • Rock Climbing
    • Kayak Touring
    • SCUBA
    • Bike Touring
  • Experience with climbing wall maintenance, route-setting, and climbing wall management.
