BICYCLE MECHANIC / WHEEL BUILDER / ASSEMBLER (ASHLAND, OREGON)

Located in beautiful Southern Oregon, we are a dynamic high-end custom bike manufacturer seeking to add a very experienced, full-time wheel builder/bike mechanic capable of building bikes from the frameset up and interested in the continuing success of Jones Bikes. As the demand for our bikes continues to rise, we need the help of a quality conscious, hard working person that would enjoy the excellent climate, beautiful scenery, great riding and an abundance of outdoor activities in our region.

Our ideal candidate has excellent character with at least 2 years of in-shop experience actually building wheels using a tension meter, and working on bikes demonstrating an exceptional mechanical aptitude. We're looking for a highly-motivated individual who's comfortable with building and servicing bicycles, and interacting with our customers, our team members and other members of the cycling community. You must be willing to learn to apply these attributes and skills in the Jones Bikes way and to strive for the success of Jones Bikes. Candidates must be able to regularly perform some bending, lifting and moving; including the ability to lift a bicycle (up to 40 pounds) onto and off of a rack and to move boxes, parts to and from warehouse shelves and bicycles throughout the facilities.

*All employees perform additional tasks as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delivery of exceptional Customer Service that strives to exceed expectations.
  • Perform assembly and adjustment in an accurate and timely manner, while maintaining the integrity of bike the Jones Bikes way.
  • Daily, complete assigned tasks and paperwork correctly.
  • Report any discrepancies and follow process to correct quickly and accurately.
  • Professional, respectful communication with others.
  • Communicate any manufacturer's defect, damage or missing parts prior to bike build.
  • Communicate any unusual problems that may need further assistance in order to complete the bike build in a timely manner and with high standards.
  • Adhere to safety procedures regarding lifting and use of tools and equipment.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area. Help maximize Loss Prevention and minimize loss.

**Note: Additional responsibilities may be assigned as business needs dictate.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Consistently practice good character including honesty, diligence and humility.
  2. Experienced in building bike wheels using a tension meter.
  3. Experienced in building bikes from the frameset up.
  4. Interest in learning the Jones Bikes way of building wheels and bikes.
  5. Desire to share in our success.
