Summary/Objective

Big Agnes is a leading outdoor equipment brand offering tents, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, insulated apparel, luggage and camp furniture. Our Sales Director serves as the voice of Big Agnes working with our Sales Manager alongside our sales team in creating and supporting the sales strategies and policies to support ownership's brand vision.

This position is based in Steamboat Springs, Colorado - prime product testing ground which allows our team to design and use our gear and experience the outdoors in comfort. Big Agnes is after all the "Mother of Comfort". Office location is less than a mile from the base of Steamboat ski area and a short distance from the Continental Divide Trail. 

Essential Functions

  • Develop and implement long term sales strategies and policies in support ownership's brand vision
  • Oversee all sales channels to assure strategies are aligned and executed for best short and long term brand positioning
  • Create revenue projections, monitor, and report on performance to projections
  • Provide market position assessments and performance projections including competitive challenges and opportunities
  • Develop near term programs, terms, and incentives that promote consistent and predictable season over season growth and margin performance
  • Develop and execute near term sales solutions and strategies for SMU and EOL products and programs
  • Cultivate key account partnerships including comprehensive understanding of each key accounts KPI emphasis, initiatives, and strategies; Providing assessments on performance, opportunities, and areas of critical need
  • Develop key account programs specific to the needs of each account while maintaining consistency with overall vision, strategies, and programs
  • Support and participate with the sales team in the planning and execution of tradeshows, sales meetings, key account meetings and presentations, training events, and internal line presentations
  • Develop sales and market reports as well as other collateral to support independent reps in their development and execution of sales and service strategies specific to their territories
  • Collaborate with internal teams on future product line planning and pricing
  • Create professional growth plans with each sales team member; mentor and support their development

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree desired " 5-7 + years 
  • National Sales experience in the Outdoor Industry
  • Liaison between Sales team and Owners
  • High proficiency and understanding of Excel
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Proven ability to position products against competitors
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Travel to events and shows is required
