The Next Adventure Paddle Sports Center Location Manager is responsible for the management, leadership and coordination of the Paddle Sports Center. The ideal candidate will be passionate about kayaking and enjoy working in the business during peak season and on the business during the off season.
The
Paddle Sports Center Location Manager supervises 10 to 30 employees seasonally,
including floor managers, department leads, retail and rental staff. This
position reports directly to the Owner/General Manager.
Qualifications:
- Experience – 2-5 years relevant industry experience in the
following:
- Managing and leading up to 30 employees
- Merchandising of kayaks, canoes, SUP’s and accessories
- Staff training, scheduling and reviews
- Retail sales and customer service
- ACA or BCU certifications preferred but not necessary
- Technical competencies:
- Ability to create structure, develop systems and
hold others accountable
- Able to build, maintain and lead a team
- Disciplined follow through
- Competent in basic computer operation, google apps,
including Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Excel
- Point of sale systems (RetailPro experience preferred)
- Active and passionate white water, sea or recreational
kayaker
- Valid driver’s license
- Organizational and social skills:
- Must be a passionate, team focused leader
- Strong coordination skills
- Scheduling
- Community focused
- Must be able to concentrate on details while
maintaining a clear vision of the big picture.
- Creativity, initiative and flexibility are necessary.
- Ability to work independently and to share information
with the team.
- Ability to network and build mutually beneficial
partnerships.
