Sales Director of Outdoor Global Brands DOWNLITE is leading provider to the home and outdoor market. We offer down and down alternative filled bedding specializing in comforters, pillows and pads. We power bedding brands such as Tommy Bahama, Eddie Bauer, PrimaLoft and numerous private label store brands. In the outdoor industry we are a leading provider of down using sustainability initiatives and market our fills globally to all outdoor brands.

Corporate office located in Mason, Ohio. We operate several plants in the country and are proud to be a privately held family bedding company. We operate several eCommerce stores, and operate in these markets: home, performance fillings for outerwear and hospitality markets.

Description:

The Sales Director will develop, execute and drive business planning efforts to support the company?s Corporate Outdoor division. In this position you will be responsible for the overall account strategy development in coordination with working both internal and external partners. In this position you will work with customers, contractors and collaborations in addition to building and executing the strategy. In this position you will be responsible for the sales and management of all existing global brands and growing new ones.

The Sales Director will be responsible for developing the product assortment strategy to support channel and customer differentiation. Partnering with cross functional management teams around the globe. Will be responsible to gain expertise in the fill area as it relates to insulation in apparel and sleeping bags. There will be extensive training to gain expertise.

Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Identify and execute strategies to grow the assigned Sales channels; including but not limited to: add on sales with each call, prospect or new business customers.
  • Coordinate with company operational teams in the USA and abroad to insure forecasts and order execution ? work with sales and technical teams from Global brands located in the USA and abroad
  • Focus on innovation by partnering with our customers to expand our fill assortment in natural and synthetic
  • Collaborate with marketing, business development and product development to develop customer-specific sales strategies, policies, annual business plans, sales forecasts (and budgets), reporting to VP of Sales
  • Participating in all our trade shows including Outdoor Retailer and Home Textile
  • Outgoing, fun and positive with a genuine passion to sell. Must love what you do.
  • Directly contributes to sustainability initiatives, including: HIGG Index and social responsibility for a better planet and identifies and leads the improvements to the entire product line based on these objective measures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor?s degree with an emphasis in sales and marketing, or equivalent experience
  • 7-10 years sales and technical experience at national level, preferably in outdoor apparel industry
  • Previous experience in the development of annual business plans and budgets, sales forecasts and report, and budget management
  • The person in this role should be a strong communicator and should have a clear point of view in ensuring the success of each customer.
  • Management experience preferred
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills and ability to work successfully with a variety of people
  • Exceptional influence, negotiation and selling capabilities
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and energetic individual
  • Willing to work hours need, with key focus on customer satisfaction
  • Willingness to travel as needed both domestically and internationally
  • Communication after normal business hours based on customer needs
  • Outstanding analytical, creative problem-solving and verbal/written communication capabilities
