Moab General Manager

Mild to Wild Rafting is an adventure company with the goal to enrich lives with an escape in the outdoors creating a deeper connection with nature, family, and new friends! We are seeking a full time seasonal General Manager for our Moab branch to work towards this goal with us. The ideal candidate is an adaptable team player with a positive attitude who is willing to work both indoors and outdoors performing a variety of tasks associated with the logistics of running our business.

As the “Utah Operations Director” first and foremost you will be a member of the executive management team whose input will be sought out for strategic evaluation of programs and operations. Helping us to fulfill the company mission of connecting family and friends with each other and nature. While, of course, remembering we’re in business to make a profit and proud to do so! You will be responsible in whole for the daily operations of the business and fulllment of the trips within your designated operations area.   This is a certainly not an exhaustive list but sets the expectations and the wide range of responsibilities. 

Business Management Responsibilities

=     Maximize revenue through ridership and retail sales within the scope of a safety first culture that expects 100% from employees but does not abuse their commitment.

=       Explore new opportunities to generate business

=       Develop strategic alliances

=       Recruit and hire guides/drivers

=       Money management

=       Implement and oversee best in practices with petty cash revenue collections and expense accounting.

=       Community involvement at events we/you deem worthwhile

=       Payroll compilation

Operations Responsibilities

=       Train and develop guides

=       Permit stipulation compliance

=       Highway and Dot Compliance

=       Maintain positive relationships with all agency partners

=       Maintain equipment and vehicles.

=       Employee motivation; great service starts with great staff morale

=       Reservation and Check-in functions.

=       Risk Management including judgment of high water age limits etc. 

=       Shop organization

=       Retail inventory control

Your primary Operational Responsibility will include making sure logistics are covered for Castle Valley, Ruby, Cataract Canyon and Desolation Grey Canyon.  This will involve being “on-call” even when you are not at work. Our business involves a lot of moving parts and when something goes wrong our management team are the people who need to be available to step in and help!

 

Front Desk and Customer Service

Mild to Wild Rafting is an adventure company with the goal to enrich lives with an escape in the outdoors creating a deeper connection with nature, family, and new friends! We are seeking a full time, seasonal Sales Development & Customer Success Consultant to work towards this goal with us. The ideal candidate is a team player with a positive attitude who can adapt to rapidly changing information and priorities associated with customer care.

Candidates must be willing to work 40 hours per week, including weekends and evenings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Develop and maintain expertise of all Mild to Wild trips to effectively assist customers with accurate information; keep current as trip details change
  • Understand and operate Mild to Wild’s reservation system, customer relationship management system, and cash register for regular transactions
  • Build connection between guests and Mild to Wild by providing superior customer service
  • Facilitate check-in when guests arrive for trips
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Sales/Marketing Managers
  • Communicate and coordinate reservations, inventory, & product updates with sales team
  • Be well versed and use or inter-office communication and task management tools (Slack, Asana, Dropbox, etc)

Qualifications:

  • Well-organized
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to easily multi-task and work on multiple projects with the same deadlines
  • Excellent communication, writing, and editing skills
  • Demonstrate a desire to learn further about business, marketing, and/or communications field skills
  • Strong inter-personal skills, team player, with an ability to resolve complex issues with a positive attitude
  • Willing to abide by the policies and procedures of Mild to Wild

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $12.00 /hour
