Individual challenge and achievement is at the core of The Adventure Park guest experience. The Park is an 'unguided' climbing and zipping adventure which challenges each guest to combine strength, strategy and balance to navigate through their choice of 14 trails and more than 200 climbing elements.

Position Overview:

This management position oversees all aspects of the parks operation and is ultimately accountable for how business is conducted in the park on day to day basis.  The Park Manager is responsible leading the park management team and builds a sense of team and positive culture throughout the organization.  Balancing appropriate staffing requirements/costs while achieving an exceptional climber experience and meeting rigorous safety standards is a key component of the position.  The Park Manager is also responsible for planning and implementation of park projects and is accountable for proper upkeep of park infrastructure including adventure park courses.   The Park Manager participates with the Managing Directors in areas of marketing and sales programs development and implementation, budget development and tracking, and infrastructure planning.

Reporting Structure:

This position reports to the Managing Directors of Wildwood Adventure Partners LLC.

Position Details/Duties:

=       Lead and manage team including course operations, business operations and sales.   Coach and develop supervisory and technical staff.   Build a sense of ‘team’ and positive culture in the organization where employees feel both recognized and accountable.

=       Ensure ethic of ‘exceptional guest experience’ is instilled through the organization.

=       Optimize staffing levels in the park based on demand – both expectations and reality – while not compromising on safety and climber/guest experience.

=       Accountable for overall ‘feel’ of the park including cleanliness, operational competency, and guest experience ethic.

=       Oversee and accountable for day to day park business operations including:

o   Flybook reservation system

o   Square point of sale system

o   Payroll and human resources administrative matters

o   Financial control and payment processes

=       Oversee and accountable for sales and marketing activities including:

o   Group reservations activities

o   Implementation of themes and events that are engaging and successful

o   Retail store presentation adheres to SSAP merchandising standard

=       Provide oversight of course operations activities and functions including:

o   Course inspections, maintenance and upkeep.  Ensure ongoing organizational visibility and tracking to activity and ensure compliance.

o   Climb and course Equipment.  Ensure proper ongoing inspection to standards, inventory tracking, repair activity, and availability/service levels.

o   on-going facilities and infrastructure management

 

=       Provide project management of various park level projects including plan development, monitoring and implementation as necessary.

=       Oversee the safety protocols and procedures to ensure safety for all guests and employees

=       Accountable for recruiting, hiring and training – especially for seasonal staff.   Ensure deployment of trained staff in line the park’s seasonal needs.

=       As member of park leadership team, participate with Managing Directors in aspects of park business activity including:

o   Development and implementation of new sales and marketing programs or initiatives

o   Budget development and tracking through the year

o   Long term infrastructure and facilities planning

=       Perform other duties and responsibilities to include providing coverage and support to staff in all areas of operations

 

Requirements:

 

Qualifications and Desired Experience

=       Minimum of 5 years of management experience with demonstrated skill in hiring staff, scheduling, and negotiating interpersonal relationships.

=       Previous demonstrated experience as a successful administrator in areas of finance and HR.

=       Previous demonstrated leadership experience and experience in a supervisory position of a diverse team.

=       Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, operations management, outdoor recreation/education, or a related field.

 

Skills and Attributes

 

=       Ability to lead and manage a diverse team and coach and develop staff members appropriately.  Candidate must be a clear and effective communicator.

=       Ideal candidate will possess natural problem-solving skills and be responsible, quick-thinking with strong business instincts

=       Above average skill, experience and comfort using typical business software (Word, Excel, Payroll, etc)

=       Must have exceptionally strong customer service skills

=       Strong ability to multi-task—able to direct and follow through on many projects simultaneously

=       Must be able to meet deadlines, take direction, and follow projects through to completion

=       Must be comfortable and willing to climb as necessary

=       Able to lift and carry 50lbs

=       CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain certification

Schedule:

This is a full-time, year-round position. Candidates should have a flexible schedule with both weekday and weekend availability.  Peak season runs from March through November. Candidates must have full schedule availability and flexibility during this season, including weekends and holidays and all-weather conditions. Managers must be comfortable with working more than 40 hours a week during the peak season. 

 

The Adventure Park is located in a natural, outdoor, wooded environment. Candidates must be comfortable and willing to work in all seasonal, outdoor weather conditions as operational and management duties may require.
